In-Person Sessions
I work primarily as a distance therapist, but some in-person sessions are available each week.
COMMUNICABLE Illnesses
I require vigilance around communicable illnesses. I live with, work with, and support people with serious immune challenges. Well-fitting masks that cover both face and nose are required for in-person sessions; N95/KN95 masks preferred. Health is also required: if you or any of your close contacts has any symptoms of or exposure to flu, cold, stomach bug, COVID, etc., you must cancel or reschedule your in-person session, or switch to a distance session. The appropriate refund or price adjustment will be provided.
What to Wear
Wear lose comfortable clothes—tshirt, shorts, thin sweatpants, etc. Feel free to bring clothes to change into, if preferred. Do NOT wear anything with elastic or stretch material—yoga pants, stretch jeans, performance fabrics, etc: these materials have their own inherent tension and so muffle my fingers’ connection to the body’s tensegrity. If you need a bra to be comfortable, please wear one. Softer bras without metal or plastic are greatly preferred: these harder materials tend to be in armpits, shoulders, mid-spine—all places I often work.
Clients will be fully-clothed for sessions. I value the skin-to-skin contact of a traditional spa massage, but this style requires the body to be addressed limb-by-limb, which limits my therapeutic effectiveness in accessesing the entire body as an integrated whole.
Space
I work in a separate treatment room in a home-based practice. Please park in the driveway. The room is just inside the front door, and has its own bathroom. I have a small, short-haired dog who is trained to my work. During the session, he can either be in the treatment room or wait outside, based on client preference.
