Process for Distance Sessions
The most important thing in a distance session is to protect your attention and space. You are the star of the session. Make sure we are both focused on you.
What You Need To DO
Find a space where you can be quiet—bedroom, spare room, basement, yard, car, bathroom, closet, top of a tree, couch—anywhere that you can be quiet, comfortable, and undisturbed. This is essential. If I call you for a session and you’re driving down the interstate, I’ll cancel the session.
Get quiet. Lie down if you can. Sit down if you prefer. Take some deep breaths.
Turn off sounds/notifications/alerts on your phone. Use either earbuds or speakerphone so you aren’t holding your phone.
What I’ll Do
Get quiet myself, meditate, and prepare for the session.
Call you. I’ll do intake and determine your priorities for the session.
Once you are ready, I’ll begin the session. I will narrate everything I perceive, and each hand placement. We will discuss what you’re working on. But, there will also be silence.
What You’ll Feel
People feel the session very immediately, and commonly experience a relaxed, lucid dreaming body-mind state. Many people fall asleep for part of the session, but still hear my voice.
We may work through former experiences, physical or emotional. Often, we talk through these together, but if privacy and silence are better, we do that.
You may have occasional body movements and sensations, as changes are taking place. Sometimes, you may get a sharp or challenging sensation; this is normal, and temporary. It will ease as the pattern we are working with changes.
Integration happens over about a week, so drink a lot of water, rest, and let your body talk to you as it changes.
